Dr Liz Bishop - Interim Chief Executive

Dr Liz Bishop

Dr Liz Bishop joined NHS Cheshire and Merseyside as Interim Chief Executive in November 2025.

Liz was previously Chief Executive of The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre and Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital and Senior Responsible Officer for both Cheshire and Merseyside Cancer Alliance and the Cheshire and Merseyside Diagnostics Programme.

A cancer nurse by background, Liz later moved into management where she held senior roles in London teaching hospitals – including as Deputy Chief Executive at The Royal Marsden in London.

Liz is deeply committed to working in partnership to deliver the best possible health and care outcomes for the people of Cheshire and Merseyside.
