Help Us, Help You

We all want the NHS to be there to care for us and our family when we need it most, which is why we are asking people to "Help Us Help You" by doing everything you can to stay healthy and manage your own health.

This includes:

  • Getting the flu jab every Autumn / Winter - it's free for pregnant women, over 65s, people with long-term conditions and children aged 2-9
  • Calling NHS 111 or using NHS 111 Online if you have an urgent, but non-life-threatening medical need
  • Making best use of your local pharmacy
  • Ensuring you have all the medicines you need, particularly in the run-up to bank holidays

In recent years there has been an increasing emphasis on people taking responsibility for staying healthy and - where possible - managing their own health.

With expert advice from NHS staff, people can help the NHS help them stay well, prevent an illness getting worse, take the best course of action and get well again sooner.
