CCG Place Committees

NHS Cheshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has established two Place-focused decision-making Committees:

  • CCG Place Committee (Cheshire East)
  • CCG Place Committee (Cheshire West)

These Committees function as corporate decision-making bodies of the CCG for the management and oversight of its functions and the exercise of its powers as delegated to the Committees. The decision-making authority of each Committee has been delegated by the CCG Governing Body.

The Terms of Reference for each Committee can be found within the CCG Corporate Governance Handbook.

Each Committee shall undertake all of the functions and responsibilities exercisable by the CCG which are not otherwise delegated to other Committees of the CCG or that which are retained by the CCGs GP membership, Governing Body, Primary (GP) Care Commissioning Committee or delegated to the Joint Committee of the Cheshire and Merseyside CCGs, in accordance with that outlined within the CCGs Constitution and Scheme of Reservation and Delegation (SoRD).

Each Committee will exercise those functions and responsibilities in relation to the residents of and/or patients registered with a GP Practice located within the Cheshire East geographical area (known as the Cheshire East Place) or the Cheshire West and Chester geographical area (known as the Cheshire West Place) with the objective of supporting the delivery of NHS Cheshire CCGs Strategic Objectives 2020-2023 and to address the wider determinants of health and health inequalities.

Committee meetings are held in public, so members of the public can observe the business of the meeting but cannot take part in the debate - unless specifically invited to do so by the Chair.

Time is allocated at each meeting for public questions. If you would like to submit a question to be raised at a committee meeting, please email ccg.corporate@nhs.net.

Questions may be submitted in advance of the committee meeting, and ideally up to two days in advance. They should be pertinent to the agenda of the meeting in question. Further guidance about submitting a question to the Committee can be found here.

Until such time as national guidance is released to enable face-to-face meetings to occur it is anticipated that meetings of the Committee will be held virtually by default. The agenda and papers for formal meetings of the Committee will be published on the CCG website.
