Annual General Meeting 2021
21 September 2021
More than 60 people attended NHS Cheshire Clinical Commissioning Group’s (CCG) Annual General Meeting on September 16th, 2021, to reflect on an extraordinary year for the local NHS.
Opened by Chair Dr Andrew Wilson, the meeting - held virtually - reflected on the CCG’s work in 2020-21, including the response to the COVID-19 pandemic and related vaccination programme.
Accountable Officer Clare Watson also reflected on the CCG’s approach to supporting and investing in staff amid a global pandemic and on the good work of the CCG’s programme teams.
Executive Director of Finance and Contracting Lynda Risk touched on the impact of COVID-19 from a financial perspective before Clare Watson returned to look ahead to further organisational change with the planned move to an Integrated Care System from April 2022.
The CCG’s Climate Change Champion Dr Gwydion Rhys then shifted the emphasis to the ‘Greener NHS’ plan and the importance of reducing carbon emissions. A related video – featuring Dr Rhys – is available here.
The meeting closed with a lively public question and answer session, in which members of the CCG’s Governing Body were quizzed about topics including the Integrated Care System, the outcome of a review of clinical care pathways and the ongoing impact of COVID-19 on residents’ mental health.
