Strategy and Partnerships

The Strategy and Partnerships Directorate is responsible for a wide range of duties and functions, including:

  • CCG Strategy
  • Integrated and Specialised Commissioning
  • Continuing Healthcare
  • Medicines Management
  • Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
  • Transforming Care
  • Community sector

Fundamental to the work of the Strategy and Partnerships Directorate are vital elements of the NHS Long Term Plan – the national blueprint which outlines how to ensure the NHS is “fit for the future”.

This includes the alignment of health and care commissioning and the alignment of commissioning alongside local authorities in both Cheshire East and Cheshire West and Chester to ensure the best care and best value for local people.

It also means providing ongoing support for the development of Integrated Care Partnerships in Cheshire East and Cheshire West – collaborations of care providers which are working together to join up care and enable more people to access care closer to home.
