Insight and Intelligence Report

When developing our commissioning plans, we need to consider feedback received from a range of external and internal sources – including via our Patient Experience and Communications and Engagement teams, and the data shared with us by Healthwatch Cheshire, our providers and others.

Since April 2020 NHS Cheshire CCG has produced an Insight and Intelligence Report on a trimester basis. This report collates patient feedback from this wide range of sources which is then subsequently shared with Clinical Leads, commissioning and programme teams.

Working with these teams we spend time understanding how the information is used as commissioning intelligence, shaping the way in which we work and ensuring that our residents voice is at the centre of our commissioning.

The report aims to help the reader understand and use the experience of a wide variety of patients, reflecting the diversity of the local population, to influence every stage of the commissioning cycle. This initiative was delivered through a partnership approach with users of services and stakeholders.

Crucially, the focus is on using comments from the public, patient experience, insight and intelligence to inform strategic priorities with our local residents feeling part of shaping commissioning decisions and plans – with a clear process for feeding back to them through ‘You Said, We Did’.
