Published in January 2019, the NHS Long Term Plan is the national blueprint which outlines how to make the NHS “fit for the future”.

Drawn up by those who know the NHS best, including frontline health and care staff, patient groups and other experts, key areas of focus include:

  • Reducing pressure on A&E departments

  • Greater focus on prevention

  • Developing and supporting the NHS workforce
