NHS Cheshire and Merseyside, Wellbeing Enterprises CIC and Cheshire East Council are delighted to announce that Giving people a voice – Involving employees and local communities in determining their own futures has been Highly Commended in the ‘Most Impactful Project Addressing Health Inequalities’ category at the national HSJ Partnership Awards 2023.

Winners and Highly Commended projects across 21 categories were unveiled during a ceremony at Evolution London, on March 23rd 2023, hosted by comedian Joel Dommett.

The event was attended by more than 900 guests, bringing together national healthcare leaders and professionals from both the NHS and private sector as well as figures from non-clinical backgrounds.

The HSJ Partnerships Awards, now in its sixth year, recognises and honours the most effective partnerships, innovative projects and collaborations in the UK health system.

NHS Cheshire and Merseyside has been working in collaboration with Wellbeing Enterprises CIC and Cheshire East Council to embed social value and sustainability principles and processes.

Reducing health inequalities and improving health and wellbeing by tackling climate change is at the heart of the work, with its strategic direction shaped by the voice of patients and communities.

Dave Sweeney, Associate Director of Sustainability and Partnerships at NHS Cheshire and Merseyside said: “We are delighted to have been Highly Commended in the ‘Most Impactful Project Addressing Health Inequalities’ category. We are committed to delivering improved outcomes for our population and to be included alongside other incredible nominees is a real achievement.

"It feels like a stamp of approval for the work that we strive to deliver and is recompense for all the hard work of both our team and our partners at Cheshire East Council and Wellbeing Enterprises CIC. We will move forward in our work with an extra sense of pride and a continued commitment to improve.”
